Hand-selected Desert Ironwood burl pen blanks with striking orange coloring and bold black vertical grain. This dense, naturally oily hardwood turns beautifully and takes a wide range of finishes — a favorite among woodturners for its color and durability.

All blanks are kiln/air-dried and stored indoors to minimize humidity-related movement and cracking. Because this is a natural material, color and figure will vary slightly from photos — that variation is part of what makes each blank one-of-a-kind.

Note: this wood is naturally oily, so it is not recommended for resin stabilizing — it turns and finishes beautifully as-is.
